Upcycled Pet Bed Showcase
NAFA and Temasek Shophouse & Post-Museum were collaborating on an event, RENEW EARTH SWEATSHOP Showcase. This project is reacting to the environmental impact and labour conditions linked to the global fashion industry. We need conceptualized and created an upcycling item from used garments to have a new purpose followed by showcasing the items at Temasek Shophouse for sale.
Documentation Process
From looking at the number of unwanted garments, I was challenged to make something that uses many garments. I was thinking of a thing that can be a decoration for a house yet useful. It turns out “Why not make a bed for pets?”. Something interesting for your house decoration and keep your lovely pet comfortable with the fluffy stuffing bed.

The amount of fashion wastage that were used in this project
Approximately 2-3 kg fashion waste were used in this project.
By using your creativity and problem-solving skills, it is possible to repurpose fashion waste into something new and useful. It might turn out to be something interesting and unique. Just have fun play with it!
